This weekend I decided to explore Rope Dynamics a little more. I figured I would do this with USB-C Chords as I want to do more product rendering.
I started out running into issues with attaching the head to the chord. The head kept popping around and glitching out when using rope dynamics. After some tests, I figured out I needed to change "custom density" to "custom mass" on the rigid body tag on the head. After doing this and balancing out the masses of the rope and rigid body, I got predictable results. I also found it helped to add a "Friction" force and a little "follow position/rotation" on both the rope and the rigid body for more creative control.
